Designed and manufactured in Austria, STEYR engines feature a unique monoblock construction that contributes to their compact dimensions, smooth operation and high power density. This makes them particularly well suited to applications where space and weight matter, including medium-sized catamarans, fast-planing monohulls, stern-drive trailer boats, jet boats and demanding commercial and military vessels.
The STEYR marine engine range offers exceptional installation versatility, with propulsion options including conventional shaft drive, stern drive, V-drive, waterjet and saildrive configurations. 6 Cylinder Engines
The STEYR SE 6 cylinder engine is a further refinement on the already-proven MO series engine, designed to provide higher power outputs, a smaller installation footprint and smoother operation.
The reputation of the STEYR SE-6 cylinder engine is legendary and it has proved itself through many hundreds of installations throughout New Zealand and Australia.
With outputs of up to 300hp, the STEYR SE 6 cylinder engine is one of the smallest and lightest engines in its class. The 6 cylinder engine delivers smooth power, excellent torque characteristics and extended service intervals.

4 Cylinder Engines
Based on the proven and trusted Monoblock concept, the STEYR SE-4 cylinder engine boasts lightweight performance and best in class reliability for small trailer boats and sailing craft.
The engine offers two power output options of 140 and 160hp and can be packaged with stern drives, gearboxes, sail-drives and waterjets to suit a wide variety of vessels.
The STEYR 4 cylinder engines offer excellent performance in a smaller footprint than the 6 cylinder engines whilst maintaining the high level of reliability that STEYR Motors are famous for.
SE-4 engines are remarkably fuel efficient and comply with RCD2003/44 and EPA Tier III emissions standards. The engine can also be supplied as a SOLAS approved option for fast rescue boats and lifeboats.
